This firm, as providers of certain personal services, is now required by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act
and Connecticut Public Act 08-167 to inform its clients of their policies regarding privacy of client
information and social security numbers.
NON-PUBLIC PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect non-public personal information about you that is provided to us by you or obtained by
us with your authorization or consent.
WE DO NOT DISCLOSE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT OUR CLIENTS OR FORMER
CLIENTS TO ANYONE, EXCEPT AS PERMITTED OR REQUIRED BY LAW AND ANY
APPLICABLE CONNECTICUT STATUTES OR REGULATIONS.
For the purposes of this notice; non-public personal information is information provided by a client, information about a client’s transactions, or information about a client which is otherwise
unavailable to the general public, and specifically includes the first name or first initial and last
name of a client coupled with any of the following: social security number, driver’s license number,
state issued ID number, credit or debit card number, or other financial account numbers.
We do not disclose any non-public personal information about current or former clients obtained in the course of representation of those clients, except as expressly or impliedly authorized by those clients to enable us to effectuate the purpose of our representation or as required or permitted by law or applicable provisions of the licensing regulations or ethical rules governing our conduct.
We may collect a social security number from you in order to obtain a credit report to support an
offer to lease or purchase. We do not disclose this social security number to any person except as
permitted or required by law. No person in this firm has authority to obtain or use the number for
any purpose that you have not specifically authorized. When disposing of the social security
number or credit report, the number will be shredded, and if kept electronically, encrypted, erased
or destroyed so it is unreadable.
CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY
We retain records relating to professional services that we provide so that we are better able to
assist you with your professional needs and to comply with professional guidelines or requirements of law. In order to guard your non-public personal information, we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with state laws and regulations. When disposing of the social security number or credit report, the number will be shredded, and if kept electronically, encrypted erased or destroyed so it is unreadable.
